REFINED CASUALWEAR
Inspired by the exemplary use of the sweatshirt as relaxed but stylish weekend attire seen on the legendary Richard Burton in the classic film of the same name. The neat and clean design is cut from French Terry loop-back jersey knitted in the UK from extra-long staple Californian Supima cotton for a smooth luxe handle and a gentle surface texture. Our signature curved seam raglan sleeve and pared back to its’ purest essence, as always the simplest form is the hardest to achieve perfectly.
The sharp casual silhouette is due to the raglan construction – the sleeve is cut from one piece of fabric that extends from the collar, leaving a diagonal seam from under the arm to the collar. Named after Lord Raglan, the 1st Baron Raglan of Raglan, who lost his right arm during the battle of Waterloo. His tailor innovatively began to make his clothes with a sleeve that was easier for dressing and gave greatly flexibility and movement.
